Please Note: per government requirements, Brookings Hospital’s Price Transparency Information includes negotiated rates with health insurance plans. The listed health insurance plans are not inclusive of all insurance plans accepted by Brookings Health System.
Brookings Health System urges caution when looking at this data. Many factors determine the final amount a health insurance plan will pay to a provider, making it difficult to include all factors in a single set of numbers. Varying factors include:
- How sick a patient is
- If a patient has other health conditions, such as diabetes or heart disease, that could complicate the care
- If a patient is receiving multiple services at once
- If a doctor learns something new about a patient’s condition while providing care
- If the course of treatment needs to change
- A health insurance plan may not cover a service at all or may impose conditions for coverage
To compare aggregate service charges from hospital-to-hospital, Brookings Health System recommends patients use the tools offered from South Dakota Hospitals Charge Compare and Hospital Compare. Please remember, each patient’s case is unique based on their medical conditions and personal health insurance coverage. Actual out-of-pocket costs may vary from the compiled charge estimates.
For out-of-pocket estimates, Brookings Health System recommends contacting your health insurance provider. Our Business Office is also able to offer you an out-of-pocket estimate for some routine and planned services. Please call (605) 696-8030 for more information.
