Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers are an FDA-approved, minimally invasive procedure that help diminish facial lines and quickly restore volume and fullness to the face. They can plump thin lips, enhance shallow contours, soften facial creases and wrinkles and improve the appearance of recessed scars.

How do dermal filler injections work?

Our faces naturally lose volume as we age. This means the facial muscles work closer to the skin surface, making smile lines and crow’s feet more apparent. Facial skin also stretches as we mature, decreasing facial volume. Sun exposure, heredity and lifestyle can also impact facial skin.

A dermal filler is material injected underneath the skin at the smile lines, vertical lip lines, corner lines or marionette lines. The material plumps the area and smooth wrinkles.

How are dermal fillers different from Botox?

Generally dermal fillers are used to add volume to the face while Botox Cosmetic is used for wrinkles.

How long do dermal fillers last?

While not permanent, dermal fillers do give long-lasting results, typically for 18 to 24 months. Injection effects can be seen immediately. Patients typically notice a difference right after treatment.

Dermal fillers reach their full effect six weeks after treatment. As such, if you’re planning on treatment for a special event, such as a wedding, class reunion, or vacation, you’ll want to book your appointment in advance.
